It's important to correctly calculate the number of square feet needed for your space. To find the area of your space, simply multiply the width of the room by its length. (If your room isn't a perfect rectangle, you can simply break it up into a number of smaller rectangles. Then, add the rectangles together!)
Generally, it's good practice to add an additional 10% in case there's waste material. Obviously, this depends on a number of factors, including your space's shape complexity, the presence of stairs, and the type of material chosen. Let's say that you've determined you need 300 sq. ft. of flooring for your room. Unfortunately, it's not as simple as simply placing an order for 300 sq. ft. of flooring.
Hard-surface floors typically come in cases that contain 15 sq. ft. of flooring or more. Use the calculator provided to give a good estimate of the number of cases you'll need to order.
Note: This calculator rounds up and adds 5% for waste.
